Hello there. It’s been a while. How have you been faring recently? I won’t ask if you have been; healthy, productive, or happy but I DO want to know if you’ve been; challenged, resourceful, or excited. So have you?
Ok I know it’s awkward so I’ll go first. I have been challenged by the relentlessness of staying close to home. My black joggers have been challenged by their undying popularity and the uncanny appearance of two identical twins in the clothes drawer.
I have been resourceful with creating a sense of adventure and forward momentum through online classes, reading good books, and taking a lot of walks. I may have named a few of the crows I see every morning on my walk. I may also think that they recognize me but this is inconclusive.
And I’m excited about finishing my leg sleeve with Jeff Gogue at 26 Swords which has actually morphed into a lower body wrap with some butt stuff and – why not – another foot tattoo because nothing will wake you up faster than tattooing your instep.
Ok, now it’s your turn (feel free to comment below) – what is getting you out of bed these days? What feels impactful and charged? It’s ok if nothing comes to mind right away – let it marinate and then go ask the crows, that’s what I do. Meanwhile, let’s talk about tattoos. Getting any ink these days? And how great is it to be able to go to the shop again?
If you are looking for holiday gift ideas remember gift certificates to tattoo shops are literally the perfect gift for your tattooed friends. Many shops offer them and artists and shop owners will be so pleased with you and your thoughtfulness. You can also make the pain more pleasant by investing in Face and Body pain relief. Sure these fine folks advertise with me for which I am eternally grateful. They also make legitimately helpful pain relief products that make getting your f%&*ng instep tattooed WAY more manageable.
I am a big fan of Sustaine because it helps me stay in the chair longer without getting all shaky. My goal in life is to have a tattoo artist say with obvious admiration, “She sat like a stone”. Sustaine makes this possible. Also, they have something called Liquidcaine which sounds like a party in a bottle but is way more affordable and healthy for you and will take the sting away fast. They offer cool little product bundles too, which quite honestly is an extremely thoughtful gift for your tattooed friends.
Now that I have helped you complete your holiday shopping (you’re welcome) why not treat yourself to a true story expertly told by my
torturer friend Jeff Gogue. Jeff has been to Japan many times. He also tells a good ghost story.
And hey – take care of yourself, ok? I mean it. And say hi to the crows for me.
